“I want to understand what you really need”.
Non-Violent Communication with children and young people.

“If we model for our children how to take care of themselves without hurting others, they will learn everything they need to live.”

This thought runs like a thread through non-violent communication with children and young people. Conflicts arise again and again in everyday life. The temptation is great for all those involved to feel attacked, to attack themselves or to withdraw, and to blame the other person. A lot is said in arguments, but usually little is said about what we ourselves and our counterpart really need at that moment.

The Giraffentraum project developed by Frank and Gundi Gaschler is based on Nonviolent Communication (GfK) according to Marshall Rosenberg. The attitude behind GfK can be reduced to a simple denominator: to treat other people as you would like to be treated yourself. Rosenberg chooses the giraffe, the land animal with the biggest heart, as the symbol of a life-serving language, thus reflecting a language from heart to heart.

You will learn:

Recognising language patterns that are not helpful in dealing with each other and finding alternatives,
Listening empathetically and understanding what the other person needs
Recognising what is really important to me and sincerely seeking contact.
Saying clearly and concretely what I want and learning to deal with it if my partner does not want it.

One adjustment that I would like to make for this and thus try to meet the different financial situation of the target countries is the pricing of the seminar fee. This is based on the average income of the countries as an equivalent to €100 in Germany.
